Thom Tran


Thom Tran came to Los Angeles in 2008 as an internationally touring standup comic, musician, and writer after spending a decade in broadcast radio in Western New York.  His comedy career started when his career as a soldier ended. An 8-year stint in the United States Army came to an end in 2005 after Thom was wounded in combat during his year long tour in Iraq. Post-combat, comedy saved his life.

Thom’s the Creator & Executive Producer of “The GIs of Comedy”, a Troupe of Troops as he likes to call them. Four stand up comics, all Veterans of the United States Military, Still Serving Their Country, One Joke At a Time. The group tours military bases and comedy clubs all over the world performing to audiences both military & civilian.

When Thom isn’t on the road he makes his home in Hollywood, CA performing at the Improv, The World Famous Laugh Factory, and clubs all over Los Angeles.

Thom also works as a writer, producer, actor, and military consultant to Hollywood films & television shows having appeared on “CSI: NY”, “Deadliest Warrior”, “Coming Home”, and he recently joined the cast of the new web series “Caribe Road”. He can also be heard as a traffic reporter in Los Angeles on radios stations like KRTH 101 & KNX 1070.
